Dynamic vocalist Estee Maria Hadzikostas has been
singing since age four. By twelve she was recording original demos that she composed. Estee Maria states that she was influenced
early on by the music of Michael and Janet Jackson, Ella Fitzgerald,Whitney Houston and Prince.
Marias vibrant personality
highlights her performance. Neither contrived nor unapproachable, Maria delivers a welcoming show that invites the audience
to experience her music; as if she is speaking to each person one on one. Maria is tangible.
I have been through a
lot in my life and I can cover a lot of the issues that teens and adults go through in my music, and with that they will feel
like they are not alone. I describe myself as very compassionate.
Maria works consistently to share her voice. She
sang for a commercial for an East Hampton restaurant that aired throughout Long Island. In 2000, the A&R team for the
R&B girl group Trace chose Maria as a member, out of 8,000 girls who auditioned! Sadly the group disbanded, but Maria
forged ahead.
Throughout her career, Maria has aired on CNN, received coverage in all of the East Hampton newspapers,
and honored events with her rendition of the National Anthem across Long Island. She has performed at a plethora of charities
and benefits, including Blessing of the Fleet 2000-2002, Childrens Developement Center and the Republican Party in 2001.
She
appeared at Guild Hall in East Hampton for a September 11 benefit. She sang the National Anthem at a fundraising basketball
game that featured The East Hampton High School Teachers playing opposite the Harlem Globe Trotters. She also performed at
a multitude of school functions, including the Commencement ceremony at East Hampton High School.
More recently, Maria
has turned her focus to songwriting, which fuels her as an artist.
"I have always loved songwriting I feel it's a
way to get in touch with yourself on a different more personal level. I can escape what ever is on my mind and focus it into
lyrics and music. "
In between her college studies at Berklee College of Music, where she pursues a dual degree in
Music Business/Management and Performance. She also spent time working with famed producer Nile Rodgers. And she is also recording
with a team of producers in L.A. On Febuary 16, 2005 she sang the National Anthem for the NJ Nets.
Estee Maria was also runner up finalist for Long Island Idol this month. Which
she had the oppportunity to sing live on 106.1 BLI. Singing her rendition on Whitney Houstons, "I will always love you"
She continues to compose material for a full-length
album. In addition to her musical pursuits, Maria loves to dance, and believes in enjoying life as much as possible.
